Dress Ideas for a Fellow Virgo

Here is a gift for a friend who has showered my dresses with compliments and healthy jealousy. I never share my own wardrobe ideas (as I prefer to inspire others) but since she is so wonderful...Silk Wrap Dress, Yumi, 39.95 (half price)

Dress Your Curves

The number one rule I give to anyone dressing is most important for petite women or women with curves. Know your proportions! A good sized bust and rounded hips are just as easy to dress as a tall boyish figure if you are fully aware of your proportions. Measure your self as some stores can differ with their dimensions by at least 3 and a half inches! Or a whole dress size.

1.Define shoulders, waist and ankles (yes ankles)

Emphasising the silhouette at smaller areas create a shape which is visually slimmer (without stepping foot in a gym). It also evens out your proportions

2.Tailor

Have garments that fit you well, there is no point buying a garment that is half a size too big, more material adds more mass to the frame. Try and have awkward fitting garment altered, seamstresses or family friends are a small price to pay.

3.Colour and Shape

Buy colours that work for you regardless of how a garment fit, no matter how much you love that colour. Buy shapes that do not work against your figure. Why buy straight leg jeans when your wonderful bottom would love a killer bootleg.

Pretty Rough Girl

So here is something we can all pull together in 5 minutes. A rough and ready sweater teamed with a super feminine skirt. I would style it with no jewellery and some leather boots. How would you wear it?

Slashed Jumper, Asos, 30.00

Tulle Miniskirt, Topshop, 30.00

Erm, Stick to Singing

So if you don't know already Beyonce Knowles has previously ventured into the fashion world (with her mother Tina Knowles) and created the line House of Dereon who were responsible for the brocade fishtail monstrosity at the previous Oscar awards. (See Pic)
Well now miss Knowles has decided to venture in more casual apparel but I'm not convinced. I'm not sure if I would pay for something I can get on the high street that looks better and is easier on my pocket. Just saying.

Item of the Week

As much as I want to hate lace, this is a really nice piece. I would definately style it with a bold colour. To make an understated impact I would wear it with a t-shirt dress and some grey ballet flats. But if one chooses to glam it up try a simple cut dress in a luxurious material.

And a slick of lipstick to really make it pop.

Flash Sale @ Christian Louboutin

Drooling yet?
http://www.theoutnet.com/ are hosting a flash sale on Christian Louboutin shoes many styles are between 40% and 60% off!! I predict a sellout by 9PM (GMT) tonight. Move fast.

Always try on.

I am very used to receiving the same compliment, "That looks really nice, if I saw it on a hanger I wouldn't have picked it up". My approach to dressing is, if it looks comfortable, if it works with more than three things in my wardrobe and I can pull off the colour; I'm going to buy it. Here is a delightful autumn dress from Primark. I can see myself wearing it with some purple tights/stockings for work or with some beaten up grey jeans on the weekend.
How would you wear it?
